MCRO provides four separate search tools. Case Search finds individual cases by party name or case number. Document Search locates specific court documents. Hearing Search shows the court calendar by date and case type. Judgment Search lets you find civil money judgments filed in Hennepin County. All four are free to use and do not require an account. Each tool is designed for a different kind of inquiry, so using the right tool saves time when researching Plymouth court records.

Contents of a Plymouth Court Docket
When you pull up a Plymouth case in MCRO, the docket view shows every recorded event from the date the case was filed to its current status. For criminal cases, entries include the filing of charges, initial appearance dates, bail orders, attorney appearances, motions filed by both sides, hearing results, and the final outcome. Guilty pleas, trial verdicts, and sentencing orders are all part of the docket record.
Civil case dockets track the complaint, the defendant's answer, any counterclaims, scheduling orders, discovery disputes, pre-trial motions, and the final judgment. Family case dockets cover petitions, financial statements, temporary orders, parenting evaluations, and dissolution decrees. Probate dockets list the petition to open an estate, inventory filings, creditor claims, and the final order closing the estate. In all case types, the docket provides a roadmap of the case without containing the full text of each document. To read a specific filing, you either need to access it online if it is available electronically or request a copy from the Records Center.
Note: Records for juvenile cases, sealed matters, and cases subject to restrictions under Minn. Stat. § 13.84 are not visible in public MCRO searches.

Plymouth residents can use the Hennepin County District Court Self-Help Center at the Government Center in Minneapolis. The center provides procedural guidance and helps with court forms. It is not a substitute for legal advice, but it is a good resource for people handling their own cases. The Ridgedale service center also provides some assistance for residents in the western suburbs.
