How to Search Stearns County Court Docket Records
Stearns County has two main online options for searching court docket records. The first is the statewide MCRO at publicaccess.courts.state.mn.us. This is free and covers all 87 Minnesota counties. The second is the county's own Criminal Case Search tool on the county website at stearnscountymn.gov. The county tool is specifically for criminal cases and may show recently filed matters that have not yet fully appeared in MCRO.
MCRO has four search tools. Case Search is the general lookup tool for finding cases by name or number. Document Search retrieves public documents for cases filed after July 1, 2015. Hearing Search shows court schedules by case, name, or officer. Judgment Search finds civil money judgments by debtor name. All four tools work for Stearns County cases and are available free of charge.
The county also has a court records research page that explains how to request records, what tools are available, and what types of records exist in Stearns County. This page is a useful starting point if you are not sure which search tool to use or what information is available for a specific type of case.
Note: Use the BCA at chs.state.mn.us for official background checks, not MCRO or the county's criminal case search tool.
